Transgender struggling for social acceptance in Pakistan

Social acceptance is basic need of all human being. I believe it’s most important need. Our ever action seeks social approval. Most of us will deny this fact but all care about others opinions and our social image. 

In under developing countries like Pakistan, India this social approval is more difficult to get, as laws are not fully implemented and the equal rights concept is completely ignored.

 People living in small communities are more conscious about this social acceptance. Which make them more conscious about community’s code conduct They start following it blindly. They believe that their survival is difficult without community support. So they challenge the inhuman rules.

 As result of this hear many curl inhuman stories about these ruler areas Pakistan but we don’t except such type of things in big cities. we consider them more develop and equal opportunity giving.

 There is a proper community of transgender in Pakistan, but our ego and so called social standers don’t let us accept  them. Many of us believe that they are responsible for their own condition but realize that we are equally responsible. Some of us people that they should be treated in proper way, but they don’t do anything about it. They should be give equal opportunity as every other gender given.

This behavior needed to be changed for that we need to change our selfies. As nation in Pakistan we need to consider bullying as bad and should avoid it. Most of us even don’t consider bulling and body shame a bad thing. when it comes to our social circle we tease an individual on their skin tone body shape habits certain habits . we reject and humiliate every individual that we consider unfit for society.

  I work with a charity firm where they arrange different public meeting sessions in which young students coordinates with different communities and try to understand their issue and try to help them out.  Most resent visit was to transgender community of Islamabad Pakistan. Where we talk to transgender group which were in age range of 30-50 plus. They share their view about the society and shared their stories to show that how desperately they want social approval in our society. One the transgender shared his feeling and said  that you people are so cruel that you don’t give us another option except begging, no one  us jobs.  She further said that NGO and social group give us money in charity, transgender community does not need. We need jobs and education opportunities. We don’t want to live that life. if someone really want to help try to create social acceptance for us and help us in getting job. The second transgender shared her story that was worst she is a master degree holder from a well reputed university of Islamabad, she searched a job for months but could not make it, people refuse to give her any job because of his gender. She was left with only begging option. I felt so ashamed and start observing that what make us so inhuman that we completely neglect this part of our society.  My conclusion is we don’t consider bulling a bad although we as a nation give speeches about equal rights and bullying should not be done don’t we don’t accept by heat. we encourage bullying in different forms. this body shame and bulling should be discouraged.

Government should make and implement laws for transgender education and employment. Government should run awareness camping’s for their social acceptance which will soon or later beat this mentality that they are lower than us or not part of our society.
