Facility or Curse

                                       Peshawar Metro a sign of disappointment

 The story beings in 2013 when the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa approached the Cities Development Initiative for Asia to provide technical support to improve the mismanaged transportation system of Peshawar. CDIA completed their feasibility analysis in 2014 and give a green signal for the formation of two corridors. This royal corridor would be completed in three phases. Initially, the road will be constructed from chamkani to kharkhanoon market.

According to Peshawar metro development authority’s 225 fully loaded luxuries will be operated through 31 stations. This dynamic project will completely change the look of the entire city.

 Well ! …… you believe or not this project actually change the look of the whole city. Current situation of Peshawar,…. people are completely fed-up from fake promises of project completion, broken under contraction roads and metro station. There is no hope that the project will be completed anytime soon.  The disappointment and frustration are coming out in the form of videos and jokes that are viral on Facebook nowadays.

 People of Peshawar are  hopeful and has strong believe in Imran Khan ( Pakistan Tehreeka Insaf) but the project completion rate has been extended several time that brings disappointment and long lasting wait .

 According to recent news reports Pakistan people Party (PPP) has approached NAB to conduct an investigation against the Peshawar  metro project. The estimated cost of the project is 39 billion and the current expense of the project has exceeded 70 billion, but  the project is incomplete. People of Peshawar with broken hope,crack roads are looking forward for the completion of the project and who to blame.
